Today we ask the question of why branding is so important to photographers. Photography is a lot more than taking pretty pictures and knowing photoshop. It’s a business, and in a business you need branding and consistency. When your clients hear your name or handle your business card, that’s a large part of your business, especially since our business is based on word of mouth. When you’re first starting a photography business one of the most important things you can do is invest in branding before wasting money on equipment that you won’t need. Hire a brand manager or logo designer to do some work for you, while it can be expensive, in the end your clients see your professionalism and by seeing your logo they’ll remember your name and your pictures. There are many services out there that provide branding for your entire business, all you need to do is search for them, some are even geared for just photographers. If I had one piece of advice to give you, I would start with hiring someone to do you a professional logo for your business.
